Wow!  February has been a fantastic month for the Clearinghouse Pantry.  Numerous Food Drives have been held by organizations large and small within our community.  We cannot “Thank” those involved enough as without these drives  the shelves of our pantry are sometimes very lean.

Our Facebook Food Drive brought in 300 cans of food in a very short period of time.

Peachtree Hospice was able to collect over 650 items for the pantry.

The folks at Glatfelter pulled together over 400 items as well.

1st Presbyterian came to our aid with 600 cans of various food items.

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church provided another 300 items with a great variety.

Union Christian Academy was able to assemble a drive that produced 500 cans and boxed items.

We also had a great response from our CS Clearinghouse Guild.  The ladies provided the Clearinghouse with $2,500 to purchase food for the pantry at the beginning of the month.  This was to hold us over until the various Food Drives finished.

Brick City, The Home Show, Junior League, Fianna Hills Country Club, and First United Methodist Church Child Enrichment Center all provided additional food to support the Back Pack program and our pantry.

Our month long drive sponsored by the Fort Smith Fire Department is just ending and collection is starting to get a total from this drive.

We had Southside High School do a bag drive for the Clearinghouse and they collected over 13,000 bags to assist with the Back Pack program.

During the recent Boy Scout Food Drive various Troops ( Troop 2 of 1stUMC, Troop 3, and Pack 20)contributed over 2,500 cans and boxes of food to our pantry.

The Clearinghouse, our volunteers,  and clients want to “Thank” all of you who have made these drives a success.  We’ll be reporting on more of these drives shortly.
