About the True Grit Ride 100
The Community Services Clearinghouse Guild is hosting the Fourth Annual True Grit Ride 100 on Saturday, June 20, 2015, beginning 7 am at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The ride offers a non-competitive cycling tour for individuals of all abilities, including a 10, 35, 50, 75 and 100 mile routes. Chuck-Wagon aid stations are roughly 10 miles apart with snacks and drinks provided. A cookout will be provided for all riders at the finish line.
NEW THIS YEAR – Mountain Biking will have it’s own day on Sunday, June 21, 2015, beginning at 7 am. – The biking is 18 & 45 miles throughout Ben Geren Park. The Mountain Bike Ride is sponsored & hosted by Phat Tire Bike Shop. Phat Tire will also be hosting the following: True Grit Mixer at Phat Tire Bike Shop, Saturday, June 20th, 6-8pm. Refreshments & music provided, door prizes for those in attendance.
The True Grit Bike Ride has been established to offer an exciting opportunity to bike riders in the area as well as offering a large fundraising opportunity to support the Community Services Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse is a well-established, (501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to families and children in need throughout seven counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The most well-known program the Clearinghouse offers is the Meals for Kids backpack program, which distributes over 2,800 sacks of weekend food each Friday to children who otherwise would go hungry before returning to class on Monday.
The ride is open to local, state, and national participants. Registration for the ride is $40. Support of the event expects to be large and will unite us in becoming “Out Spokin’ for others!

Registration for the True Grit Ride is currently underway. To register go to BikeReg.com. Paper registration forms are available for pick-up from the Community Services Clearinghouse located at 4200 Wheeler Avenue. We recommend using on-line registration if at all possible. Riders may register in person June 19, 2015, and the morning of the rides June 20 & 21, 2015. The rides begins at 7:00am. Pre-registration is recommended due to time constraints the morning of the ride.

Charter Members are automatically registered each year. At packet pick-up Charter Members will receive his/her goodie bag, bid number and waiver to sign.
Riders 18 and under must have approval of parent or guardian to participate in the True Grit Ride 100, including the family ride
Minimum age of riders in the 35, 50, 75 and True Grit 100 mile rides is 12 years old by the deadline: December 31, 2014.
No refunds or transfers.
Packets will be available for pick-up Friday, June 19, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Community Services Clearinghouse (4420 Wheeler Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas) and Saturday, June 20, 2015 beginning at 6:30 a.m. for any rider who was unable to pick up their packet the night before.
Each participant must sign a Waiver when picking up their packet. Participant’s signature is required. Packets will only be distributed to participants at registration. Participants must pick up their own packet, the only exception being a parent or guardian picking up a packet for their minor. Photo ID and participant’s signature are required at time of packet pick-up.
No packets will be mailed.
Parking for the True Grit Ride 100 is available throughout Ben Geren Park and across the street from the park at Bost.

The Clearinghouse Guild reserves the right to alter or cancel any True Grit Ride event at the Guild’s discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, severe weather, security issues, construction, and/or accidents. No refunds or credits will be provided under any circumstances for cancelled events. Cancellation decisions will be made as early as possible via the True Grit Ride 100 website.
The Clearinghouse Guild/True Grit Ride 100 has a “No Refund and Transfer Policy.”
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of severe thunderstorms at start time, the start will be delayed up to 1 hour. After the 1 hour rain delay, the event may be cancelled or shortened. Riders need to be mindful of the weather at all times and use discretion as it pertains to their personal safety, especially once on the ride has begun.
