Meet Our Staff
Tami Kuhns
Executive Director
Tami has been working at CSC since 2008 and has held various positions before becoming the Executive Director. Her responsibilities include managing staff, writing grants, establishing budgets, managing operational finances, overseeing CSC programs, fundraising, social media, event planning, payroll, reducing budget costs, and product ordering. She has also served on the Community Flood Impact Committee and is a member of Leadership Fort Smith class of 2020. Tami has attended many continuing education classes to improve her skills and better serve CSC. She lives in Leflore County, OK, with her husband Jeff and are proud parents to three daughters and have three grandchildren.
Aubry Severe
Director of Operations & Development
Aubry has been part of the CSC staff since 2016. Before taking on her current role, she served as a caseworker and Office Manager at the CSC. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Meals for Kids program and coordinating the organization’s fundraisers, True Grit and Feed the Future. She also assists with grant writing, fundraising, donor retention, social media, website updates, volunteer coordination, and day-to-day office operations.
Prior to joining the CSC staff, Aubry volunteered for three years through the Hope for the Holidays program. She is a lifelong resident of Pocola, OK and resides there with her husband Grant and their three children.
Sammie Kuhns
Office Manager
Sammie has been a valued member of the staff since 2021. Her role involves a range of responsibilities, including over seeing our on-site food pantry and caseworkers, client intake, referring clients to other community resources, managing daily and monthly client counts, and organizing the Hope for the Holidays program.
Before joining the CSC team, Sammie volunteered at the organization for several years. She is a lifelong resident of Pocola, OK and enjoys spending time with her family, her fiance, her son, and friends.
Kaitlin Peterson
Caseworker
Kaitlin has been with the CSC since 2026. In her role, Kaitlin will work with individuals and families in our community, providing support, connecting clients with resources, and helping them navigate the challenges they may face.
Kaitlin is originally from Mansfield but has made the Fort Smith area her home. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and an associate’s degree in general studies from the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith. Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two cats.
Shawn Thompson
Warehouse Manager
Shawn has been with the CSC since 2026. His daily responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including donation pick-ups, organizing deliveries for the Meals for Kids program, overseeing the Meals for Kids food organization, maintaining vehicles, picking up food drive donations, and handling any other daily activities that require his attention.
Shawn is a lifelong resident of Spiro,OK and enjoys spending time with his son and family, and refereeing football.
